Sample Apps

Apps built live with Claude Code during the workshop. Each one is deployed and working: open it, use it, and look at how it was put together.

Tetris

Play it: brickboy-tetris.vercel.app

A handheld-style Tetris with the music, sound effects, and green screen of the original, built from a single prompt and deployed to Vercel with a Supabase database behind it.

How to play

On a laptop On a phone
Move Left and right arrows Drag left or right on the screen
Rotate Up arrow Tap the screen
Drop Space (all the way), down arrow (soft) Swipe down
Start, pause Enter START button

Play someone head to head. On the menu choose 2P VERSUS, then CREATE ROOM. The game shows a four-letter room code. Your opponent opens the same link, chooses 2P VERSUS, then JOIN ROOM, and types the code. When both of you press START, the countdown begins. Clearing 2, 3 or 4 lines at once sends 1, 2 or 4 rows of garbage to the other player. Last one standing wins.

Watch a match on the big screen. brickboy-tetris.vercel.app/watch.html?room=CODE shows both players’ screens side by side, live.

What’s under the hood

  • Frontend: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no build step. The music is synthesized in the browser with the Web Audio API, the way the original handheld’s sound chip worked.
  • Database (Supabase): players (name and settings), scores (one row per finished game), saved_games (close the tab mid-game and pick up where you left off), and matches (versus results). Row-level security lets anyone read the leaderboard while each player can write only their own rows. Every visitor gets an anonymous account, so there is no sign-up.
  • Live features (Supabase Realtime): the leaderboard updates the moment anyone finishes a game, and versus boards stream between players over a broadcast channel.
  • Hosting: Vercel.
